Roblox: $2 billion in revenue for mobile version, more than half of which in the last twelve months

Although it was released in final version in 2005, Roblox's popularity, which is currently one of the most played games in the world, has continued to grow in recent years. Mobile versions for iOS and Android devices were released in 2012 and 2014, but have only seen their reward in the game for a few months.

According to Sensor Tower, the game generated as much money between September 2019 and September 2020 as it has since its arrival on mobile. In fact, during these twelve months, Roblox reportedly grossed $1.03 billion, peaking at $113 million in May 2020. As expected, as you can see in the graph below, the global lockdown, which took place from March this year, has benefited the title and Roblox Corporation, in charge of its development.

As a result, the creators of the mini-games available on roblox will also see their income increase. According to the developers, by 2020, they should double the total amount, reaching 250 million. Good news, therefore, ahead of the company's likely IPO, which could allow the game to develop further and attract new players.
